## Get into the right game

Use the Classic World option in the Nexon Launcher, or the MapleStory installation through Steam. Classic World and modern MapleStory have different progression; make sure the launcher is set to the game you intend to play.

The Grand Launch supports both Windows and macOS. If you use a controller, open Game Options and enable Controller Support before trying to remap inputs.

## Find your feet on Maple Island

Every character starts as a Beginner on Maple Island. Use the early quests and monsters to learn movement, combat, and how your inventory works before traveling to Victoria Island.

A practical first-session goal is to arrive at your chosen job instructor with enough time to read the advancement dialogue. Keep equipment purchases tied to the job you actually plan to play.

## Choose your first job at level 10

Warrior goes to Perion, Magician to Ellinia, Bowman to Henesys, and Thief to Kerning City. Each job has its own instructor. All four first advancements are listed at level 10 in the current launch notes.

| Job | Town | Instructor |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Warrior | Perion | Dances with Balrog |
| Magician | Ellinia | Grendel the Really Old |
| Bowman | Henesys | Athena Pierce |
| Thief | Kerning City | Dark Lord |

## Plan around the next unlock

Crafting opens at level 10 and citizenship at level 12. At level 21, you can join First Time Together by speaking to Lakelis in Kerning City on channels 3–12. Your second job opens at level 30.

For new accounts, reaching level 15 starts a 24-hour wait before all trading features become available. Treat this as an account unlock rather than a reason to expect trading at exactly level 15.

| Level | Milestone |
| --- | --- |
| 1 | Begin on Maple Island |
| 10 | First job & crafting |
| 12 | Citizenship |
| 15 | Start the account trade-unlock timer |
| 21 | Kerning City party quest |
| 25 | The Marks We Leave Behind event |
| 30 | Second job advancement |
| 100 | Grand Launch level cap |

## Give your next session one job

Choose a goal you can recognize: reach the instructor, unlock a system, or prepare for a party quest. When comparing training spots, time a normal session and count travel and restocking as part of the cost.

Our EXP calculator uses the numbers you enter from your current game session. It can compare your own pace without assuming that an old-version monster table applies to your character.
